You can create a variety of sync and backup tasks with Real Time Sync: update target method, mirror, smart bi-directional sync, expanded by-directional sync, back up, and version tracking. You can set these tasks to be performed automatically based on a schedule, or you can manually trigger them. This is, in short, the functionality you can expect to get from Real Time Sync.

Real Time Sync can be installed on desktop machines powered by 32 or 64-bit Windows editions, anything from Windows XP onward. A simple setup wizard will guide you through the installation process; you will be done without putting in a lot of time and effort.
If you’re constantly on the go, you need to know that there’s also a portable Real Time Sync version. It runs directly on a USB stick or another portable device; it does not require an installation.

The upper panel of the application’s interface is taken up by a list of sync/backup tasks. Select a task from the list and more info about it will be presented in the panel underneath. Above these two panels there’s a ribbon with buttons for running a task, accessing the options menu, editing an existing task, creating a new one, and more.

Speaking about creating a new task, a wizard will guide you through all the steps you need to take. The first thing you will need to do is give the task a name and pick the sync method. You can choose one of the following: update the target folder only, mirror (make the target exactly the same as the source folder), smart bi-directional sync, expanded bi-directional sync (merge), back up (copy the source to destination), version tracking (incremental backup, with compression). After that you will have to choose what you want to sync/back up, specify where to back up the data, choose, set up filters, set up a schedule, and play with a few advanced options. Don’t worry, the simple truth of the matter is that creating a task is not a difficult matter. Once you set up any and all the tasks you want, just sit back and enjoy the application’s functionality.

Real Time Sync is offered for evaluation purposes as a 15-day trial with no functionality limitations.

Easily set up sync and backup tasks with Real Time Sync and thus ensure your files and folders are kept safe from data loss accidents.

Pros

Real Time Sync is available as a desktop and a portable version; the desktop version can be easily installed on a PC powered by anything from XP onward. A wizard will help you set up sync/backup tasks. There are several types of tasks you can create. Tasks can be run automatically or on demand. The trial has no functionality limitations.

Cons

15-day trial; nag screen.
